An opportunity for kids to be around all sizes of horses, from Buddy our towering Clydesdale to Willy our wee donkey. Horseback riding and horse management, nature studies, arts/crafts, theatre performance and wagon rides (weather permitting) are just some of the activities hosted during the week long day camps. There is also the opportunity to have seniors come as guests for a pinic tea one afternoon as we have done in the past.

Our new facility offers participants more hands on horse experiences this year. Both small indoor and larger outdoor arenas allow us to carry on rain or shine! The program has been modified, creating interesting projects for the older participants. Our number one focus is on safety. We strive for fun, social, educational and above all team work during the Camps.

Our staff members are Annette Pollock, Special Needs Coordinator and Laurie Thompson, Riding Insturctor, along with Jess Pollock, Carmen Perry and Darla Dickinson. The ratio of supervision is 6 youngsters to 2 staff. Staff are on site with Red Cross Standard First Aid certification and Criminal Record checks have been done through the Hope, RCMP.

The Horseback Adventure Camps will be held at 63421 Yale Road ~ "The Green Barn" in the Silver Creak area. We are easy to find, as you come off Exit 168 proceed past Valley Helicopter's entrance and follow the road around and parallel with the rail way tracks. You will come up to a stop sign and we are straight ahead!.

Camp fees are $150 CAD per camp participant. Please make all payments out to Hope Therapeutic Riding Society.

The following forms must be filled out before one can participate in the program. Some participants are currently on file and will only need to fill out the Registration form. If you are not able to print out these forms, please contact us and we will deliever them to you.

• In consideration of safety and others, there is NO SMOKING PERMITTED on the grounds unless your are in your vehicle.
• Please supervise childern closely. NO running, yelling, or horseplay permitted around the arena or horse areas.
• All dogs must be on a leash and away from arena and horses. They may be requested to leave if they consistently bark.
• All horses love treats (apples and carrots only). Please do not hand feed unless your instructor or staff have given permission. Please do not feed or go near anyone else's horse.
• No photographs can be taken unless a rider has signed photo release on file (sorry not even for school or personal use/scrapbooks). Please check with instructor or program coordinator before taking any photographs or videos.
• For safety reasons, parents, caregivers and visitors are asked to stay on the outside of the ring unless they are asked to enter by the instructor.
• While the instructor is giving instructions, interaction with riders should be avoided so that they can focus on the lesson.
• Please lock your handbags or valuables in your vehicle. In consideration of the horses' sensitive noses, please try not to wear perfume.
• If you have rider information or updates, please inform the instructor or coordinator.
